The Empowering SMEs in International Trade Programme, delivered by the Export Department and fully funded by the East Midlands Growth Cluster, can help your business to take advantage of the opportunities importing and exporting have to offer, boosting your business’s turnover and resilience.

International trade clinics – two hours of support

Are you a business looking to expand your brand overseas through exporting? Or use importing to grow your global supply chain? If you don’t know where to begin, these International Trade Clinics can help to get you started. With two hours of dedicated one-to-one support, you’ll have the opportunity to discuss everything from business readiness, to trade documentation, regulations, routes to market and more.

International Trade Intensive Support – six hours of support

Do you already import or export, but want to expand into new territories or products? Along with ensuring you’re trade complicit, this six-hour intensive support package will help you to take advantage of the many facilitations, as well as the duty and tax relief options available.

Suitable for existing or experienced exporters, product and service-based companies and SMEs of all sizes.

International Trade Peer Network Programme – 12 hours of support

This programme allows SMEs like yours to work with like-minded business leaders and decision-makers to grow your business. Although made up of SMEs of varying sizes and specialisms, they all share one common goal – to successfully trade overseas. Meeting virtually once a month for a total of six facilitator-led sessions, this scheme will expand your knowledge and take your business to the next level – all while helping you to build a local support that you can rely on.

Export Manager Programme – 30 hours of support

Whether you’re new to trading overseas or an experienced exporter, the Export Manager Programme provides hands-on, operational support to enhance your in-house capabilities and refine your international trade operations.

This 30 hours of targeted, operational support for SMEs hoping to expand their brand abroad focuses on targeted coaching. Our export specialist will work with you to acquire the knowledge you need to be a self-sufficient exporter, with in-depth knowledge of importing/exporting best practice.

Suitable for existing or experienced exporters, product and service-based companies and SMEs of all sizes.

Building Business Resilience

Strengthen your business with the Building Business Resilience programme!

A collaboration between Business Lincolnshire, D2N2 and the Leicester and Leicestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, this fully-funded programme can ensure your business is prepared to withstand a range of unexpected challenges that may come your way.

The outbreak of COVID-19 demonstrated the importance of having a plan in place should a crisis occur. Although a difficult time for SMEs, lessons were learned during the pandemic that can be used to strengthen businesses moving forward. This five-month programme, delivered by the Business Lincolnshire Growth Hub, will arm you with the tools and knowledge needed to make your business more resilient, giving you the confidence to tackle future crises and come out stronger on the other side.

Open to both online and physical businesses across the East Midlands, there are seven cohorts available to join, each with a different specialism. This provides SME leaders with the opportunity to connect with like-minded business owners and decision-makers also looking to strengthen their business.

The programme offers a strategic yet practical review of your business. Each month is dedicated to a different key resilience threat, allowing you to develop a clear plan that ensures your business is adaptable, flexible and most importantly, resilient.
